Andrea is an abstract acrylic painter whose paintings come from within her imaginative self. All of Andreas paintings are purely unique for they have all come from an individual artists heart and soul. Color is my elixir is a simple but powerful quote spoken by Andrea who uses a spectacular variety of colors in her paintings. Andrea uses her freedom of expression to use color as her daily mood corresponds. She begins her canvas with one color that satisfies her mood and then builds from there. One of Andreas favorite subjects to paint is landscape and the pure reality of natures many beauties. This lively and bright artist will capture these beauties of the everlasting sea, the varying landscapes and the vast atmosphere through a cameras eye which allows her to review these wonders on a smaller scale and then bring them back to life in her own style, design and color. Andrea always has a painting on the go. Whether it is a canvas, wood panel, or a wall, she never leaves her true calling in the shadows. Her art gives herself and her viewers a rush of emotions such as calming and a soothing caress, or a rejuvenation or an uplifting. Painting is Andreas music and her canvas is her piano. With her freedom of expression her paint follows the emotional flow of her hearts own symphony. Andrea believes that when she paints there are no mistakes, only happy accidents and the freedom of exploration that we all used day in and day out in our youth. Andrea paints until her symphony ends and her heart is content with her story written on canvas. Andrea will use a diverse assortment of tools such as brushes, her own fingers, toothbrushes, knives, spatulas, recycled items, corrugated cardboard and bubble wrap in her work. In her paintings, Andrea will sometimes create a collage, or will create a specific flow and direction, twists, turns, splashes and dabs and she will even plaster in fascinating, minute items into the canvas. Its not the end result but the journey there is a heartfelt quote that Andrea has held close with her since the day she heard it from a respected teacher. Andrea Dean-Glab is a member of the Mississauga Art Society, Mississauga Arts Council, Visual Arts Mississauga and Visual Arts Ontario.
